Enhancing Presentation Skills
Background & Objectives
We have been collaborating with London & Partners since 2017, providing a range of programs, including Enhancing Presentation Skills, Change Management, Public Speaking, and a Leadership Team Retreat.
In March 2025, we conducted a customised Enhancing Presentation Skills course for a group of enthusiastic professionals from the organisation. The goal of the course was to enhance participants’ confidence, clarity, and authenticity in preparing and delivering presentations, whether in meetings, pitches, or public events. This course aimed at enhancing presentation skills to make a significant impact.
Programme Overview
This highly interactive one-day course provided participants with practical tools and immediate feedback to help them become more compelling and confident presenters. The group brought high energy, openness, and a willingness to be playful and honest, making for a vibrant learning environment. We explored both the ‘why’ and the ‘how’ of presenting: why we choose to speak rather than send an email, and how to deliver our message with authenticity, clarity, and impact. The emphasis was on enhancing presentation skills through experiential learning.
Key Content
The day covered a wide range of techniques and strategies, including:
- Exploring the emotional and practical reasons to present live.
- Replacing unhelpful habits with more empowering ones using a playful “1, 2, 3” exercise.
- Identifying the qualities, skills and behaviours of impactful presenters – highlighting warmth, clarity, pace, humour, openness, and structure.
- Sharing personal “Turning Points” stories to uncover natural communication strengths.
- Workshopping live presentations in small groups with detailed feedback on delivery, clarity, and slide usage.
- Developing engaging slides that act as visual aids rather than scripts -avoiding “sliduments” and putting the presenter back in control.
- Practising core skills like pausing, eye contact, and navigating questions with poise.
- Applying the A.R.M.E.D. structure to bring clarity, relevance, and action to any talk.
- Discovering a wide range of attention-grabbing openings (Hot Starts) to replace default intros. These strategies contribute substantially to enhancing presentation skills.
- Emphasising simplicity and authenticity—communicating big ideas with fewer, better words.
Desired Outcomes
Participants left the course with:
- Renewed confidence in their own authentic presentation style.
- A toolkit of techniques to structure, rehearse, and deliver with greater impact.
- Practical guidance for using slides as a support tool, not a crutch.
- The ability to engage audiences emotionally and intellectually.
- Clear personal development takeaways and follow-up resources to keep the learning alive. Continuous improvement is key to enhancing presentation skills.
The course was supported by flipchart images, digital handouts, relevant articles, TED Talk recommendations, and an invitation to reach out with further questions or success stories.
