Setting Your Team Up For Success
Team Success Programme Background and Objectives
Euronext partnered with Impact Factory to deliver a modular virtual training programme. Setting up team success was a key objective of this programme, aimed at refreshing and deepening team leadership capabilities among managers. Building on a long-standing relationship, having partnered across multiple regions since 2017, this programme focused on revisiting key tools and frameworks. Additionally, it reinforced alignment with company-wide goals, enhancing the confidence and clarity of people leaders. Thus, the initiative was critical in setting teams up for success.
Key objectives included:
- Reconnecting managers with familiar tools and best practices
- Applying the SMARTER goals framework in more meaningful ways
- Enabling effective follow-up and accountability within teams
- Supporting engagement with wider organisational objectives
- Creating a space for open discussion and real-time reflection
Programme Overview
Delivered as a modular programme of nine 90-minute live online sessions over six months, the series provided a consistent, structured learning experience. There was room for flexibility and adaptation within this structure. The first session, “Setting Up Your Team for Success,” laid the foundation with a focus on team dynamics, motivation, and practical communication tools. Importantly, this session highlighted the essentials for success when establishing a team, ensuring managers were equipped to foster successful environments.
After an opening energiser exploring the realities of collaboration, participants revisited Patrick Lencioni’s Five Dysfunctions of a Team. They then dove into how objectives link to task, team, individual, and organisational outcomes. Setting up success for the team involves any objectives linked to broader outcomes which inherently supports team success in new initiatives.
The session explored Autonomy, Mastery & Purpose as key drivers of motivation. It also introduced tools like scaling questions and contracting conversations to help managers lead more thoughtful, measurable, and motivating discussions with their teams. These tools are crucial in setting the team up for optimal success.
