Creativity and Innovation Programme
Background and Objective
Apetito partnered with Impact Factory to create and implement a customised Creativity and Innovation programme for two specific groups: the Product Development team and the senior leadership team. The main goal of this Creativity and Innovation programme was to foster a stronger culture of collaboration, experimentation, and bold thinking within the organisation.
The client expressed a desire to move beyond incremental improvement. They wanted to foster the kind of strategic creativity that would lead to step-change innovations in both product and systems development.
Impact Factory has worked with Apetito on and off since 2013, including their Creativity and Innovation programme journey. They have supported the organisation’s development journey through a number of training initiatives over the years.
Programme Overview
The two-day programme was split between foundational tools for creative thinking and practical, team-based innovation strategies. Participants explored personal and cultural attitudes to creativity and risk as part of the Creativity and Innovation programme. They learned new frameworks for ideation and influence and practised tools for engaging others, managing group dynamics, and selling new ideas.
Through a blend of experiential learning, discussion, coaching questions, and dynamic challenges, the programme helped delegates stretch their comfort zones. Furthermore, they challenged assumptions and developed actionable strategies for embedding innovation into everyday work as part of the Creativity and Innovation programme.
Key Content
Over two days, delegates explored a series of interactive, creative tools and behavioural strategies that support Creativity and Innovation.
They:
- Identified personal and organisational blocks to creativity and explored ways to overcome them.
- Practised listening and questioning techniques that promote fresh thinking.
- Experienced design thinking approaches including divergent/convergent thinking and the Double Diamond model.
- Engaged with practical activities such as “The Ball Game,” “The Viking Game,” and “Web of Words” to enhance communication, collaboration, and lateral thinking.
- Learnt frameworks such as the Six Thinking Hats and Aristotle’s Persuasive Structure to shape and pitch innovative ideas as part of the Creativity and Innovation programme.

Desired Outcomes
- Develop greater confidence and capability in generating and supporting innovative ideas through the Creativity and Innovation programme.
- Equip participants with practical tools to run creative meetings and influence stakeholders through the programme.
- Foster a more open and connected team dynamic to support collaborative innovation.
- Apply creative strategies directly to Apetito’s development challenges and team culture.
